reviews
In ‘Oxygen’ Nikos Kypourgos uses shades of the classical orchestra, traditional music, rock and latin reassuring – apart from cinematography- a pleasurable sound journey.
Kathimerini, November 2, 2003
The ‘Oxygen’ soundtrack signed by Nikos Kypourgos is one of his most concluded. Firstly, the songs: a superb low-voiced Eleftheria Arvanitaki in the initiating ballad and an even more superb Manolis Lidakis. As for the remaining 14 musical themes, they are all characterized by perfection and mainly sensual completion.
Antonis Boskitis, Sound, November 2003
The fact that Nikos Kypourgos experiments with modern sounds and techniques, lets us await for even more and greater surprises from his significant creator in the future.
Petros Maistralis, atraktos.net, November 2003
Nikos Kypourgos’ nature to set up solid sound ‘scenes’ is more than obvious. His leading guide being mostly a coherent shade, the composer expands his sound towards folklore, traditional, ethnic, latin or beat forms, without this being undermining. Fabulous, well interpreted songs with great musicians participating in the recording. “The end doesn’t exist here” with Eleftheria Arvanitaki is exceptional.
Alexis Vakis, Difono, December 2003
